Deep Work Timer — Reserve a Longer Project Block

Choose another tool if you need automatic cross-device sync or app blocking. Compare timer workflows and limitations.
Define a Deliverable Before Starting
Choose work that benefits from keeping the same context open: outline an argument, compare two designs or investigate a bug. Gather the relevant notes and tools first, then select a task as your session target.
The starting schedule is 50 minutes of focus, a 10-minute short break and a 20-minute long break. These are configurable defaults, not a promise that you will enter a flow state or work at a particular rate.
Make the Next Session Easy to Resume
Before a break, record what you tried, what changed and the next step. For a draft, leave a sentence describing the next paragraph; for analysis, note the question that remains unresolved.
Use the coding timer for a debugging example or the 50/10 preset for the interval setup. A shorter 25/5 block is another option when the task is smaller.
